Select this by using the drop down to the right of the select one box and you have a list of repairs that take you to pages that show what additional components you may need to complete the job.
Keyword Search
This can be used to type in basic words like relay, hose, Shock, belt, a/c and it will send you to a list of parts to select from related to that word. It works best with single words and is not perfect and remember that different regions of the country use different words for the same part.
4) After you have selected the component you are looking for make sure it is what you want. We sometimes have different brands of the same parts. We believe everything we sell is of excellent quality.
Explanation of OEM verses Aftermarket:
Some of our clients want certain brands so we try to carry a selection. OEM means Original Equipment Manufacture that does not always mean the brand the car came with. Sometimes there were three or four suppliers and depending what assembly plant the car was built in determines what brand part was installed. Sometimes the OEM part had problems and the manufacture switched suppliers. Aftermarket means a copy of the original design but not made by the original manufacture. Same part different company. These parts generally are offered at a reduced price and offer a reasonable alternative to much higher priced parts.
5) Please be positive if it is left or right side. In the automotive word sides are determined when sitting in the drivers seat. Left is drivers side and right is passenger side. We only sell parts for US models so we do not need to discuss right hand drive vehicles. The next step is remember the part you are purchasing may be used in an additional place on the car so is it for the front or rear. Shocks and brakes are a good example of this. Look at the photo, our photos are not generic. Click on the photo and it will get much larger. What you see is what you receive. If the component comes with a gasket it is pictured. If gasket is not included photo has no gasket included. Please note some photos show a front and back view or a left and right view that does not mean you will receive two of the same part. Under the photos there are sometimes notes. Please read these notes they tell you important things like before or after dates. If you have a before date that means you need to look on the door (on most cars) and find the date of manufacture. An example would be before 5/89 this means you car needs to have a build date of 4/89 or earlier. This also works with after 5/89 this means you car needs to be built 5/89 or after for this part to fit. The same goes for before and after vin numbers or vehicles identification numbers. On some cars the vehicle identification numbers are also the series numbers. A lot of older Volkswagen components require vehicle identification numbers.
6) Above the buy button it has a quantity box generally the normal amount to complete the job are prefilled in. You can add or subtract from this amount if you wish. Once you know what you are purchasing press the buy button and it will take you to the check out page.
